As if I’m not confused enough trying to keep calendar dates straight, this week I’ve been on the borderline of Central Time and Mountain Time, which “smart” phones and laptops that want to switch between them so I am never sure what the correct time is! I end up googling “What time is it in Denver?” at least once a day! It is fitting, then, that today I’ll make Denver, after five hours or so of highway driving. Let’s recap this crazy week: Wednesday: Drove 170 miles south from Minnesota to SE of Des Moines. Thursday: Drove 100 miles south…

Weekly Update: Oct 18, 2017
From Lake Superior to a small town in Wisconsin to a beautiful lakeside park in Minnesota, it’s been an amazing week. The Porcupine Mountains were so beautiful that it was hard to leave them on Thursday, for the day-long trek south to a small town in Wisconsin where my brother and sister-in-law live. It is also home to the real-life great-nieces who created Flat Emma, Flat Eden, and Flat Eliza (or as the real Eliza calls her, “Flat Me,” which totally cracked me up!) I went biking and shopping with the oldest one, exploring with the middle one, and biking…
Weekly Update: Oct 11, 2017
After four months of not moving many miles (2500 miles), I’ve done just under 1000 miles in the last eight days. Booking right along there, aiming for Wisconsin and family this weekend and then down to warmer, southerly climes by end of October (or at least that’s the plan). I had a windy but fun day at Niagara Falls, taking photos and mostly just listening and looking at the sound of all that water. The falls are famous views, but turn northward and this bridge and the river were beautiful too. I was staying on the shore of Lake Ontario,…

Wait, it’s October already? I was barely getting into September and now it’s already done. It’s been a hard week out in the big, wide world, so here on WynnWorlds, I am going to show some pictures of lovely places and leave out all the drama, except to say that I have a shiny new windshield on my Subaru (yes, again). I spent most of this week in the Finger Lakes, and it’s beautiful country, even if the fall colors didn’t make much of an appearance during my visit. The long weekend (Thu-Tue) was spent in the company of friends,…
Weekly Update: Sep 27, 2017
Where was I last week? Oh, right, in the Finger Lakes, trying to survive the heat and humidity while waiting for fall colors to pop. I’m till waiting… and still “enjoying” the humidity. It is pretty though, mostly wineries and farms, like this one, where you can see the sheep following each other out of the barn like, well, sheep. One of the most moving moments of my life came last Thursday, standing on the hallowed ground where the first Women’s Rights convention was held, in Seneca Falls, New York. My mother — married at 19, a mother at 20,…
