Still on Cape Cod, still doing hand therapy twice a week plus self-guided sessions 4x a day, still doing beach walks. It’s been a fun place to hang out, and if only I didn’t have to do all the hand stuff, I’d probably say it was a beach bum week with great sunsets. The one above was just down the street, on a meadow-lined path to the beach. And this one was Tuesday night at Quissett Harbor. I need to go back there and do some more photography. I did do some real work, got a dashcam on sale at…

It’s been a quiet week here on the Cape. I’m still enjoying the whole “not moving” thing although I’m starting to get antsy to see new places, so I think I’m timing my Aug 22 move to my next spot pretty well. I’ve done a little rearranging and recycling of things inside the trailer in preparation for moving on, including a run to the local Goodwill donation center. It’s a bit amazing to me that after a year of living in my trailer, I still have things I can cut out: the bin that was too big, the clothes I…

Another week of beach photos, so if you’re in a vacation state of mind – or need to be – this is definitely your lucky day! Consider this the abbreviated “my vacation photos” album that everyone posts on FB. First there’s the sports photo… Then the wildlife photo (yes, that is a coyote on Cape Cod!)… The cute sea shells, which are periwinkles in a row… And, of course, people swimming… But I bet there’s one photo few people have in their summer vacation album. The people across the street must have an awesome view of the night sky… They…

This week found me hitting the east coast, the place I had been aiming for since the beginning of the year, with plenty of stops along the way. I lived in Massachusetts for 12 years (Boston, Acton, Stow, and Beverly, to be precise) so it feels like coming home in a way. And it took me about 10 seconds to remember the rules of MA driving, which include never acknowledging the other drivers and taking a yellow light to be the same as a green light. I may have a Washington plate on my car, but I can hold my…

Last week at this time, I was still in Lancaster, PA, enjoying the Amish country while I finished out the first round of hand therapy. Seeing buggies and horses never got old. After a lovely two weeks or so, it was time to move on, heading to Cape Cod and a housesitting/hanging with friends summer. My first stop, at the KOA in the Poconos, had a sign that boded well for future travels 🙂 I landed Monday in the Hudson Valley, which felt a bit like coming home after 30 years away. So many new things, like the brilliant rails-to-trails…
