There are three remaining Saturn V rockets in existence: one at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, which I saw several years ago, one at Johnson Space Center in Houston, which I haven’t seen yet, and the third is at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Guess where I was earlier this month? That’s right, Huntsville, so it was time to finally check out this Saturn V exhibit.
Month: March 2024
Huntsville, Alabama, Round 2
Last time I was in Huntsville, way back in 2019, I had two goals: see my friend, St. Rich, and see the Saturn V at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. I got one out of two… it was a ton of fun catching up with Rich. That left the Saturn V on my bucket list for sometime in the future. Turns out it took me five years to make it back to Huntsville, but it was definitely worth the trip.
One Night Stand at a KOA?
While the long-time reader might know that I tend to camp at state parks or national parks (including US Army Corps of Engineers sites), every so often, I spend a night at a KOA campground. Why? There’s a few reasons…
Watsadler, GA (Take 3)
This is my third time at Watsadler campground, just barely on the Georgia side of the state line with South Carolina, and not that for from North Carolina either.
Addicted to Sunrising
I wake up at the first hint of dawn, and hold my breath as I open the porthole window shade. Will this be another amazing sunrise or a gray day with no hint of the yellow orb that can make the start of the day a mesmerizing event?
