I keep a spreadsheet that shows where I’ve been by year and day, partly to remember where I was when and partly because it’s fun to look across the years and see the extent of my travels. Turns out September 30 has been a pretty good day for me since I started the vagabond life…
Month: September 2022
Long Weekend in New England
Over the past few months, I’d been trying to convince one of my nephews to meet me in Boston for a long weekend. We have the same birthday month and every few years, we manage to meet up somewhere for a joint celebration. But it wasn’t until he realized the Yankees would play the Red Sox at Fenway Park that he was all in on the idea. Let’s just say he bought the Fenway tickets before he had a flight or a hotel room… When he finally picked a hotel, the “high floor river view” rooms did NOT disappoint…
Seven Orphans
Once again, it’s time to let some recent photos see the light of day and be appreciated by someone other than just me. All of these are moments in the northeastern United States, taken from a pickup, a kayak, a boat, and on foot. Enjoy! The little lake where I went kayaking near Worcester had some lilies so of course I had to try and get close enough for a photo. Five minutes and a lot of little paddles later, I got this shot.
August Adventures, 2022 Version
It was a month of moving around the northeast, which is fun because I got to hit a lot of places without a lot of mileage (or gas) being involved. Every single mile was on back roads, which are easy to find here, and the skies were uniformly amazing every time. Well done, Northeast!
Waterfire in Providence, RI
When I showed in in Providence, Rhode Island on a Thursday to explore the city a bit, I also took a 50-minutes boat cruise. That was a great way to learn more about the city and see it from the water, and it was also the first time I’d heard of Waterfire, the art event that happens every so often in the heart of the city. And, it was happening the very next Saturday! How could I resist that?! Short answer, I couldn’t!
