Why Sandbach? Where the heck is that, anyways? Well, it turns out to be a delightful market town, close to Manchester and Chester, with a proper high street, a market square, many classic pubs, and a fair amount of people I wanted to see after all these years away.

England: Morecambe Beach
After the beaches of Scotland, where else could I go but another beach, this time in England. Morecambe is known for its tides, and so I booked a water view room for the weekend to see it for myself
Outer Hebrides: The Last Ones
All good things come to an end, they say, and so it was with my time on the Outer Hebrides. I couldn’t leave without one last post of photos, though.
Outer Hebrides: Traigh Mhòr, Isle of Lewis
Of all the places I love in Scotland, and in the Outer Hebrides, it is this two-mile stretch of pristine beach at the far end of Lewis that I have held deep in my heart since I walked its sands 10 years ago. I can’t tell you why that is, I just know it is so.

Ah, Shawbost. When I stayed on a croft 10 years ago, this was my local beach and I made several trips to it over my visit. So, of course, I had to check out it out all these years later, only to find it unchanged and as remote and wild as I remembered it.
