St. Lawrence: By Land
I spent a week exploring the Thousand Islands region, first by land (this post) and then by water (the next post). It’s a huge place, actually, and it’s hard capture the scope of it, but I’ll try. At least I can capture some of the beauty.
Upstate NY Snapshots
I spent eight years in the Hudson Valley of New York, but never got to the really “upstate” part of New York back then. From the edge of Lake Ontario and on up the St. Lawrence Seaway, it’s been a really beautiful month, in between smoke alerts and surprise rainstorms. Boldt Castle, NY
One of the more touristy activities up here in the Thousand Islands region of New York is visiting Boldt Castle. I found it to be a thought-provoking visit, with my ruminations about the experience taking me far out of the usual tourist mindset.
