Ah, it’s been an interesting summer as far as smoke and haze and air quality goes. I got hammered in upstate New York a few weeks ago, but had mostly dodged the bad air since then. Until I decided to drive into Montreal (an hour and change each way) to see my long-time friend, Vida.

Years ago, when my dad came up to Seattle one time, we visited the ship lock at Ballard and he was fascinated by it. St. Lawrence: By Land
I spent a week exploring the Thousand Islands region, first by land (this post) and then by water (the next post). It’s a huge place, actually, and it’s hard capture the scope of it, but I’ll try. At least I can capture some of the beauty.
