Sometimes the best view is at my feet, and sometimes, it’s over my head. Way over my head. Like this…
I’ve been camping on an island surrounded by salt marshes, but it’s the sky that has taken center stage every day. Even flock of white egrets can’t upstage skies like this.
After four years of PacNW winters, I appreciate a beautiful blue sky more than ever. If you’re in the middle of winter, thinking it will never end, it will, and then you’ll have skies like these.
When I look down, I just miss all the good stuff and when I look up, I just trip over things.

My mom calls those Florida puffies. We could use a sky like that! 🙂
Enjoy!
grey sky here today – rain, sleet, but no snow! Quite warm the next several days but I see that David Epstein – local meteorologist who blogs at Growing Wisdom and on Twitter writes that “The North Atlantic oscillation is about to go into a very negative state. This will change our pattern dramatically in March. Definitely high potential for more stormy and colder weather. Details still unknown.”
Sometimes March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb – maybe that will be the case here soon. Often March is a harsh month weather wise – cold, snow, wind, and then a couple of days of warmth – and then rinse and repeat!
David Epstein use to be a TV weather guy but retired from that – and he is the one meteorologist whose forecasts I trust. The TV folks are usually too busy being dramatic.
Hi Annie,
I am some one who enjoys following your blog. I just wanted to say “thank you” and let you know it has a positive impact on people you don’t know.
My partner and I own a Roadtrek van (we used to have a Safari Condo) and have travelled extensively through the South-West and Pacific USA and around every province in Canada (we are Canadians). I am now semi-retired and will be spending more time on the road by myself as my partner needs to continue working (poor her :o). Let us know when/if you come to the Montreal area and I will see if we can find you places to boondock (our townhouse driveway is not long enough) or just offer you tour guiding info from an insider’s viewpoint. We speak French and English so we can help out with language if it is a barrier for you.
Au revoir and happy travels,
Donna
PS: I lost my dad about the same time you lost yours and I found your posts about him (and your grief) very touching.
PSS: the Ani DiFranco quote had me laughing.
Beautiful!
Beautiful! I especially love the first photo…something about it intrigues the imagination 🙂
Thank you, Dawn! I appreciate the comment, and yes, I love that first photo too!
Your blue skies were a welcome change from our last three days of 16 inches of snow. Our skies have mostly been white! ❄️
It’s restful
Thank you
