I’ve been spending the last few days in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. With the right light and some hiking, I’m amazed how beautiful this area is.

Wandering around the campground in Sequoia National Park and found this watery shot after scooting down the rocky hillside.
Literally on the side of the road for a different shot, and saw this as I got back in my car. It turned out to be the much better shot.
And, well, you can’t mention being in Sequoia National Park without showing an actual Sequoia. The branches start at about 120 feet from the ground, to give you a sense of scale.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

Annie, I love your photos! The first picture is my personal favorite. It is so cold here in Western North Carolina and your photos look like autumn. We may never be able to afford an Alto camper but I sure am looking forward to being able to travel to nicer weather in the winter.
Annie, you’ve inspired Art to get a camera. I guess our iPhones just will not do after seeing your photography. As if that would make us photographers like you. Hah! But, it will be fun to try.
Now, going through the redwoods in my convertible is one of my lifelong best experiences. This sequoia reminds me of the majesty and the joy these huge beings impart.
