This week, I’m perched on the edge of the water and the edge of the continent, and I’m up early every day in anticipation of the sunrise. The dark sky lightens slowly, barely changing from minute to minute until the first golden light spreads across the horizon. The sky continues its golden turn and now the water picks up the light and changes colors. And then there it is, the sun peeping over the faraway hills. The anticipation is over, the day has begun. Be happy in anticipation of what’s coming. Abraham Hicks
Month: December 2017
Weekly Update: Dec 6, 2017
Wait, where the heck did 2017 go? It’s already December? I know where the last three months went, it’s right here on the map: coast to coast, from September 5 to December 5, racking up 5200 miles. I’m back in Santa Cruz for a week or so, enjoying my west coast home and catching up with friends and enjoying the beach. Let’s…

I walked almost all the way around…
Sunday Serenity: Desert Air
The desert day starts with sunrise, cactus a shadow that turns real as the sun slowly creeps over the mountain range to the east of my campsite. It is a harsh place, the desert. Cactus rise, and cactus fall. But tiny miracles of green give hope. Life, indeed, finds its way here. As with any place, there is beauty if searched for, contentment when found. If you sing of beauty though alone in the heart of the desert, you will have an audience. Kahlil Gibran
