Four Views and a Tornado Warning

I was working on this post when my phone, sitting on the windowsill, made a huge rattle. Whee, tornado warning! Not what I had expected, given that the weather service had said my area was in one of the green/outlying bands for today. Old Gold Leaves

Here in the northern forested hills of South Carolina, the leaves never fell off some of the trees last fall. Those dried out husks hung on all winter, waiting for something to happen but I’m not sure what. Now it’s the first week of Spring, and they haven’t let go yet. When the late afternoon sunlight hits them just right, they are beautiful.

52 Frames: Water

One of my favorite challenge themes, water! This week also marked my return to the coast, so it was almost too easy to find an image worth submitting. These three were the finalists come Sunday morning. Skidaway Island is on the coast, but it’s the part of the coast that is marshes and islands rather than sand and surf. I found this tree and its reflection on a mid-week hike. What, it’s already the third week of January? How can a month both fly by and seem so long? I honestly don’t know but that’s how it feels here in Wynnworlds land.
