This last bit of updating Breeze was all mine, and it was actually the first thing I did of the four. Give me a few days, a couple cans of spray Rustoleum, and a blue tarp, and well…
Every few years, my propane tank somehow gets dinged up enough that it needs some rust-busting and a new paint job. But, and this was quite exciting for someone who hates rust-busting, Rustoleum now has a spray can that converts the rust into, well, I’m not sure, but it makes it paintable without having to resort to steel wool or sandpaper. So I went all in on THAT can of Rustoleum stuff. And then, right next to it was a whole bunch of pretty colors of Rustoleum. This was also new since the last time I was perusing the offerings at Home Depot.
When I had some time and space, sitting in the smoky weather of early July in Ontario, I got to work. Blue tarps are handy for a lot of things, including paint work areas. And those orange things are actually pads that usually go under my trailer’s stabilizer legs, but they do pretty well as platforms to keep the tray from sticking to the tarp. It’s all about improv when you’re a full-timer doing maintenance tasks.
After two coats of the “make it not rust” spray that was a nice flat black, it was time to get colorful. I really liked the ease of use of both spray cans, and the coverage was even and smooth for both, as well. I do think my neighbors were a little concerned seeing me shake a spray can and then disappear around the side of the trailer, but whatever…
I did two coats of the color and let it sit for a day, but then the rains were going to come back, so I quickly mounted it back onto the tongue and put everything back together. (For the curious reader, I use two-inch industrial strength Velcro to secure the tray on the two sides of the tongue frame. And while I was at it, I trimmed the jack stand so that the tray sat nicer, a mod I’d been meaning to make since I got the new jack in 2020 and realized it pushed the tray up and away from the tongue frame.)
Sometimes it’s the silly little things that make me smile. Like this dash of color on my trailer’s front end. I think Breeze likes it too.
There are only 3 colors, 10 digits, and 7 notes; its what we do with them that’s important.

Is that Barbie turquoise?
It does match, doesn’t it!?
Love that colour! In the early 60’s we had a Rambler station wagon of that colour along with our kitchen cupboards and melamine dishes. #nostalgia
