The next exercise in sprucing up Breeze was replacing one of the windows that had suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous things like manzanita branches and cracking corners.
For this round, Jim (of Route Alto 80 fame) inveigled his friend and fellow Canadian and Alto owner, Alex, to assist in not only putting the new window on, but also seeing if they could figure out a way to avoid future corner cracking. Much discussion ensued, along with some well-placed cuts with a Dremel tool, first on the old window as a test case, and then, very carefully, on the new window and on the metal hinge that holds the window onto the side of the Alto. Finally, they put the new window on the hinge and inspected their efforts.
Here they are pointing at the fruits of their labor.
Look at that shiny new window! It’s so clear that it’s like its not really there! And yet, it’s dark enough that Jim and Alex couldn’t see me taking their picture through the shiny new window.
Thanks to both Jim and Alex for their attention to detail with this project. When I’m inside, that window is the one I look outside of the most, so I’m thrilled with the result.
Play to your strengths. If you aren’t great at something, do more of what you’re great at.

I’m really great at knowing my limits and asking for help with Alto projects.
