I’ve been giving my website a new look and now it’s time to see how the “here’s a new post” email looks. So if it looks okay, yay! If it doesn’t, you might see another test post/email in a few days after I figure out what went wrong…

I’m really hoping the email looks okay because the last thing I want to do is dive into why it’s not working out. I am doing these website changes solo, and so far, I’ve been fixing glitches before anyone finds them (or else y’all are just really polite and patient…).

Sounds like you noticed that the email didn’t contain an image. It didn’t even contain one of this little icons you usually get when the image is missing. New look for the website is clean and crisp.

The email looked normal to me…but then I never remember what things used to look like once I get something new.

If the photo is from the last few months, it’s 99% gonna be my iPhone13, to be honest! I have a Sony A7 and a little Panasonic Lumix pocket camera, but the iPhone is just doing such a great job that I find myself using it more and more (in conjunction with Lightroom as an editing tool).
The new layout looks great, super crips pictures! The taps/sub-tabs seem all to work and the interconnected links within different post make for easy multi-layer searching. Your maps are super helpful to me! Thank you for sharing your experience 🙂
Oh, I *love* it when people use the maps, they are one of my favorite things on the website! I’m working on tags for posts now so that the “related posts” will be better choices (they are sometimes very odd choices now…). Thanks for leaving me such a nice comment, Daniela!

Looks like the email works except it doesn’t include a photo, so I have to figure that out. I did it once upon a time!
Oh, the photos are so sharp and clear! The colors are great. But your commenter details always get me — I put in my name first, and then the email, but you want them in reverse order, with email first, then name. Gets me every time!

Gotta be honest. I loved the big, widescreen photos on the old blog. Not sure what made you want to change it other than wanderlust. 😉 But it’s still a lovely site (and sight).
I too have loved the widescreen photos at the top of the blog.
I think I can make the blog posts themselves be full screen, let me look into that. The home page I like with the insta feed and the map, a little more info for people to see.
