I had one absolutely gorgeous sunset while I was in California, so I’m using the end of the year as an excuse to publish the four shots I made as a series. As we approach the end of a difficult year for so many of us, enjoy the beauty of a Salton Sea sunset for a few minutes.

The haze made the colors to the east end of the lake blend together so much that finding the horizon became almost impossible.

As the sunlight slowly faded, the pink faded into purple and then blue.

And just like that, the sunset was over. One sublime moment in time, in a year full of moments that are now gone forever.
Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.
