For the last five years, I’ve made a concerted effort to take at least one photo a day. Sometimes it’s a silly one that captures the day…

Most of the time, though, times I put more effort into it. At the end of the year, I pick the 10 best as an exercise to see how my photography practice has improved year on year. So, without further ado, here’s thumbnails of 2018’s top 10 images.
Bonus: You can get full-sized images of them at my smugmug site.
Twelve significant photos in one year is a good crop.

Your photos are inspiring and I find myself at peace as I study each one.
Annie, thank you for sharing your photos. I found myself getting lost in them. Tranquil and yet beautifully refreshing and energizing. Great job!!
Lovely images. I tried to comment under each regarding composition, possible post-production and their impact on me. I didn’t have success doing that. My favorite image is that of the sole (soul) tree; the height of the horizon, the softness of the clouds, the position of the tree all really came together for me. The cannon image also was a favorite.
Thanks for letting me know how much you liked the photos, Jack. It’s the first time I’ve used the gallery feature in WordPress, not sure why you couldn’t leave a comment on individual photos. I can but I am in a browser on a laptop.
Did you post last year’s top ten? I can’t find an obvious link. These are wonderful and I’d love to see what ticketed your fancy last year.
Good catch, Laura! You’ve inspired me to upload all five years of top 10 images, so look for them Monday (it takes a while to upload from where I am).
As always, these are breathtakingly beautiful, Annie. I appreciate your willingness to share them with us. Studying your photos helps me to slow down and really look at things in my own world!
Thank you, Anne. This is such a lovely comment, I really appreciate it!
