A tidal bore is when the front of the incoming tide forms waves of water as it travels up a river against the direction of the river’s current. Truro, at the far end of the Bay of Fundy tidal system, has just such a tidal bore, and it was 10 minutes from my campground, so off I went one morning to see what was going to happen. Weekly Update: Jun 13, 2018

It’s been a busy week here in Nova Scotia. Lots of hiking at Blomidon, through forests lovely like this. The best hike? Cape Split, without a doubt. Standing on the edge of the cliffs, looking out and looking down were amazing experiences. And, yes, I am still fascinated by the Fundy tides. Some days the sun doesn’t come out, either in real life or metaphorically speaking. Everything feels sort of grey… Same view, different day. Bay of Fundy, Round 2

This is about an hour after dead low tide on Minas Bay, part of the Bay of Fundy tidal system. I decided it looks fun enough out there I wanted to go, so down two sets of stairs to the rocks and mud. Weekly Update: Jun 6, 2018

It’s been a busier week than I thought, looking through the photos I’ve taken. (I have a filter in Lightroom that shows me the last 7 days of images and that’s where I start when writing the weekly update.) The cover photo is from a hike at Kejimkujik National Park.
