Seems that while parts of the US and Canada are going to be getting cooooold weather soon, I feel like I need help all those affected feel warmer with a throwback to a September outing with photos I haven’t published yet. Today’s feature, then, spotlights the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens, in Massachusetts.
It was a lovely sunny day, and spending it with two old friends made it even better. We wandered around looking at exhibits and flowers, pointing out crazy colors and lovely peppers and wonderful arrangements.
The fall crocuses were out (yes, some kinds of crocuses do bloom in the fall and winter!) and they were lovely indeed.
My one friend loved the weather-beaten statues in one section, so I took some photos but forgot to send them on. Now everyone gets to enjoy them. These are named Winter, Spring, and Summer, in that order; no idea what happened to Fall, maybe it fell down.
There’s nothing finer than spending a day with good friends, enjoying a nice sunny lunch, and exploring a new place together. And Tower Hill is the perfect place to do all of that.
Can you imagine us
Years from today
Sharing a park bench quietly?
How terribly strange
To be seventy.
