Today I decided to be an explorer of Seattle’s streets! There is so much to see that I wanted to find the most fun things to share with Real Eden. Annie made sure her camera had good batteries because I wanted her to take a LOT of pictures. Why? Because I want Real Eden to see what a big city like Seattle really looks like! It’s not just the Space Needle, you know! There are really tall buildings that look new and shorter buildings that look old and then even shorter buildings that look even older! I think every building in Seattle looks different!
This one looks like two buildings, the bottom round one and the tall glass one on top! I think it’s pretty silly but I guess someone liked it enough to build it!
And speaking of building, when we were looking at the courthouse next to where Annie works, we met her friend, Scott. He helped to build the courthouse so we took a picture of him and me in front of his building! It’s so tall I couldn’t count all the stories, but Scott told me it is 23 stories high.
Right across the street is a huge 39-story building that is not finished yet. Annie said that when Grandpa Herm was here last September, they were just starting to build this one. As I said earlier in my story, Seattle has a ton of tall buildings and there are more every month!
I also explored transportation, a new word I learned from Annie. Here’s how to use it in a sentence: “Seattle has many transportation options.” And that means there are buses and bikes and monorails and walkers all the the same picture!
What’s a monorail? It’s just like the monorail at Disneyland, except this one is in Seattle. Which is one more reason Seattle is such a cool city! Just down this street is one more kind of transportation, the light rail. It’s like a railroad but there’s no engine and only one car. And there are rails down the street for it to ride on. It’s pretty cool and Annie says we can ride on it next week! See the little smiley at the front? I like that the best!
And there are taxis all over in this part of Seattle because lots of people work in those tall buildings, and all the taxis have very bright colors so you can spot them easily when you need a ride!
There’s one more kind of ride in Seattle, and it has the funniest name: Car2Go.
These little cars are all over and you can use any of them if you’re a member of the Car2Go club. Annie is, and she said we can ride in one this weekend, and I will be so happy because I think this Car2GO is just my size! You just drive it to where you want to go and park it and then someone else in the club can use it. I never heard of that before, but then I’m not very old and this is my first time in a big city.
So, what do you think of my explorations today? I’m very proud of myself because I saw a lot of new things and I had fun all day long!
