Today, Annie got to work at home all day, so I got to play around and watch movies on the TV and hang out. Then she said work was over and it was time to meet her friend, Denise! She was waiting for us by a huge cherry tree and it was so pretty that I just had to get a picture of it (and me too!).
That’s my new friend Denise making sure I don’t get wet, because it had been raining a lot (and I’m paper, so rain and me is NOT a good combination!). We crossed the street to get to Denise’s house but it turns out it wasn’t a house at all, it was a big building!
We took an elevator to get to her house because she lives on the third floor. Only she doesn’t call it a house, she calls it her apartment. Hmm, I was not sure what an apartment is, but I decided I would be an explorer and see what she meant.
We walked down a long haul and through a door and then we were inside her apartment. It looks just like a house inside!
It was really pretty! I like red, and Denise does too! So it turns out an apartment is like a little house inside a building. The third floor has 16 apartments, and there are four floors, so that’s a lot of people! Annie said it’s a very good way to fit a lot of people into a small space because Seattle has a lot of people and not a lot of room. So that’s another way Seattle is different from Osceola because we have a lot of room in Osceola!
Denise had a funny teddy bear on her bed and I sat next to him for this picture.
Turns out he is a koala bear, from Australia! Annie has been to Australia and she said he looks just like a real koala bear, except real ones don’t wear sunglasses.
Then it was time to go to dinner, but before we left the building where the apartment was, we saw a whole big room full of treadmills and elliptical trainers and all kinds of things you can use for exercise. I liked the balance ball a lot, but it was hard to stay on it so Denise helped me pose for this picture.
We walked down a really busy street and waited at the crosswalk for the light to turn green. It was still raining so I was happy to share the umbrella with Denise. Then we went to a restaurant called the Copper Coin and it was a lot of fun having a girls dinner with Annie and my new friend, Denise!
A quick walk home, safely tucked into the pocket of Annie’s jacket since it was still raining, and it was time for these girls to go to sleep. Good night!
P.S. Annie told me just before she turned off the light that we are going on a BIG ADVENTURE tomorrow!!! I am so excited! How can I fall asleep now?
