Boldt Castle, NY
One of the more touristy activities up here in the Thousand Islands region of New York is visiting Boldt Castle. I found it to be a thought-provoking visit, with my ruminations about the experience taking me far out of the usual tourist mindset.
Watkins Glen: A Day at the Races
Last year, I was at Watkins Glen camping, but the raceway was closed. This time, though, it was wide open on the weekend, hosting the SCCA circuit, which ranges from Mini Coopers to open-wheel to NASCAR-style stock cars. Oh, yeah, I had a great time and I’ll try to explain the reasons why.
Corning Museum of Glass (NY), 2023
This is my third visit to the Museum of Glass in Corning since 2017. I could probably go every day for a month and not be bored. But then, when you love glass in all shapes and sizes and uses, this place is pretty close to Nirvana. Such beautiful things, and so many of them!
