I wake up, no alarm needed, at 6:35AM. The merest sliver of dawn has slipped through the smallest of gaps in the blackout curtains in the living room and I can see it through the crack in the blinds of the bedroom.
I slide into my fuzzy slippers, grab the phone, and pad out to the living room for the show. The cold air surrounds me as I step out onto the balcony to watch the show.

No clouds, so it won’t be a spectacular sunrise but it’s still the show I choose to start my day so I stand and wait.

I’m not the only one here who starts the day watching the sun rise. There are a half dozen people scattered on the beach below me, each of them facing east, waiting for that one moment.

It’s coming…

And there it is, the first peek of that ball of fire that keeps us all alive every day.
Good morning, everyone.
It was sunsets that taught me that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments, and it was sunrises that showed me that all it takes is patience to experience it all over again.

Reminds me of mornings on Kailua Beach watching the sun come up when taking care of my Mom. Thanks for sharing beautiful moments…
What a great post and picture!
Thanks for the sunrise. I’ve rarely seen one.
I needed this, this morning.
Ah, I knew someone would need it
Thanks and good morning!
