Ah, Perth, an unexpected little jewel on the way north! We had one goal in mind, but found more to explore once we were there. And as for weather, it was a perfect day, as you can see by the cover photo, snapped out the window by my nephew as we drove up the A9.

Anstruther and St. Andrews, Scotland
And now the trip has left the station, or the city, rather. After picking up the rental car at Edinburgh airport, we headed out of the urban area. Or tried to. I made a wrong turn so we had to backtrack a bit and I did stray to the wrong side of the road once. Ah, travel is full of adventures, isn’t it?!

Edinburgh is a feast for the eyes if you love architecture, which I do. My camera worked overtime taking photos in this city, and it was the doors and passageways that most caught my attention on this trip.

One of the most fun things for me about being in a new place is noticing the details, those little things that make me feel like the city is mine in some way. London is full of them, and these are some of my favorites from this trip.
St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh
If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I love cathedrals. Those towering monuments in stone, built by generations of men figuring out the laws of physics stone by stone, arch by arch take my breath away every encounter.
