It was two years ago today that I turned in my laptop and badges and walked out the door of my employer for the previous four years. In doing so, I ended 4 decades of working full-time (a misnomer for high tech travelers, to be sure). I began a new chapter in my life, but I honestly didn’t know how things would go.
Two years on, I’m happy to say things are going well. The first year was a struggle for many reasons: lots of things broke, including me a few times, and I fell into the classic trap for many new full-time vagabonds: moving fast, moving a lot, thinking I had to see it all right now.
This second year, I have moved slower, moved less, seen more, and even started to think about what direction I might go in year three. I’m still thinking about it as I begin it tomorrow.
Even with all the ups and downs, I’m happy with my decision to walk away from the high tech life and get back to basics: a tiny house that straps on to the back of my car, fewer possessions, more creativity, and way less stress.
Here’s this week’s home, that’s Breeze on the far left.
… the terrifying but marvelous terrain of unknown outcome.

Way to go for year three. Wishing you the best year yet.
Thanks, Maryanne! Hope all is well with you and Rod (is he retired yet?).
So very glad that you are happy—you deserve it, and you definitely earned it!!
Beautiful photos, and thanks for taking us all on your journeys. Hugs!
Annie,
Wow! Don’t where they are from, but these are some of your best pics ever.
Thank you, Bob! I am in Tennessee and all the rain here (it rains every day…) really makes things green and gorgeous so that helps a lot with photography.
