This week is all Nova Scotia, because I’m in love with this place. It’s a lot of different places, actually, so let’s begin.
The photo at the top of the post is my camping spot just across the water from Digby. There wasn’t much of a crowd at this campground, so I had my own little patch of grass for the weekend. And with the Bay of Fundy tide show right out my window, it was a prime spot indeed.
I drove down the Digby Neck Scenic Drive to Sandy Cove, a beach said to have sea glass at low tide. Here it is, low tide, with a picturesque set of fishing shacks at the end of an old dock. I found a few pieces of glass, but I was more entranced by the rocks and the tide.
Digby is famous for its scallops, so I had to try them. Yes, the scallops are really good: tender and tasty.
Saturday, I went to the next town over, Annapolis Royal, to check out the farmers’ market and the rest of the town. The band was pretty good, and with a backdrop of a hauled out fishing boat, how could I go wrong in this shot?!
The sunset out my front door was amazing that night. I almost forgot to eat dinner, I was so occupied with keeping an eye on the sky.
Sunday, I got my first Canada Discovery Pass as I moved to Kejimkujik National Park. It is an amazing place, full of tall trees and lakes and streams. And even better, friends.
I met up here with two couples who have Altos and we had a great time the last few days. I’ve been very lucky the last few months to have camped with Alto owners in North Carolina, Virginia, New York, Maine, and now Nova Scotia, and each time, it’s been a lovely experience.
It’s the friends we meet along the way that help us appreciate the journey.

What campgrounds is this? I know you said Digby but not sure if that is the name of the campgrounds. We are planning to tour the PEI when we pick up our Alto in 2019 and I want to start figuring out where to stay.

Hi, John! The campgrounds I have stayed at while visiting Nova Scotia are (slowly) going up on my blog. On the top menu bar, choose Places/Canada/Touring Nova Scotia. If there is not a link for the place, it means I have not written about it yet. But Digby is there 🙂
Loved our trip around Nova Scotia…glad you got up there
