All good things must come to an end, and so my time at Huntington Beach State Park ended today, after 22 nights of not moving Breeze a single inch. It was my first time staying somewhere that long, and had its good points and bad. I got restless after two weeks, but I did get a lot done on the photo book (almost got the first draft of layout completed, yay!) and established a daily walking habit, thanks in part to friends challenging me via online contests. Having a beach three minutes away make walks easier, I will admit!
Here’s my last sunset photo from South Carolina for a while…
And my last sunrise photo, from this morning. Kinda foggy! But the long V of birds overhead was worth it. So was shell hunting with my new friend, Becky, who met up with me for one last chat as we picked shells for her grandkids.
There was also a nature trail around the back side of the beach that ran along a lagoon. Not a lot of birds, but the trees were very cool.
After a round of farewells with Becky, and Ed and Rita, I headed out of the park and south to Georgia. Four nights of no beach but a lot of tall trees around me. I’m just south of Savannah and think I’ll try to see some of it on Friday, if the weather cooperates. For now, here’s my new digs. That Clam shelter is fab – I can put it up and take it down in five minutes flat, and it keeps the bugs away from me.
Hope you’re having a good week out there!
The world is vast and meant for wandering. There is always somewhere else to go.

Keep on wandering. I know you enjoy the view.

Nice bug shelter, that will be a great place to work outside, too!
That is a great tree. Can’t wait to see where you go next!
Annie, your photos are so inspiring and beautiful. Each one tells a complete story. We just returned from the Arizona desert, where we did our first boondock in a natl wildlife refuge for bighorn sheep. (And, dare I admit, watched a Warriors basketball game under the stars with the help of ‘your’ wifi booster.) Didn’t need it for the chorus of coyotes that followed. Happy, safe travels.
Nice boondocking choice! Bighorn sheep – did you see any? And I love the sound of coyotes singing me to sleep.
Love the BRS (Bug Respite Shelter. 🙂 )
Your photography is just so wonderful.
Nice looking refuge from the bugs! We don’t have any here yet, must be the temps (22 degree high today with snow tomorrow) LOL
