I haven’t driven much since I got to Denver a week ago: I moved the trailer from site 26 to site 29, then down to Parker and back for maintenance work, and that’s all. It’s been kind of nice staying in one place, especially when that place has family. So in lieu of cool travel photos, I’m showcasing color this week.
The photo at the top was sunrise one weekend morning. Cold enough I dug out my hat and gloves but worth it.
The golden hour just before sunset lit up the autumn leaves so beautifully that I had to try and capture it.
Sunday’s version of sunset was magnificent, and I enjoyed another golden hour walk. Cherry Creek is a huge park and the campground is just a tiny corner of it. If you come to Denver, don’t miss it, it’s beautiful, even in the starkness of winter.
Tuesday’s sunset more subtle, which allowed the moon to show off a bit. After all, it *was* Halloween.
Today is November 1, or as NaNoWriMo folk know, the first day of 30 days of crazy writing. Off I go!

Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❣️
It was such a wonderful surprise to see you! ❤️
Hi and thanks for such a great resource for those of us looking at the Alto 1743 and using an Outback. I was hoping to find out if your Outback is the 4 cylinder? We have a 2017 Outback 4 cyl and think the Alto is the trailer for us. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Pat
Hi, Pat, thanks for reading and for the kind words! I have the 6-cylinder Subaru Outback, but there are many people who tow an Alto with the 4-cylinder version.
I’m enjoying your blog. How is the trailer performing in the cold? Does it have the heat pump?
I’m asking because I’m thinking this trailer might work for us
Cliff
Hi, Cliff! I do have the AC/heat pump, but the heat pump only works till about 40F. After that, you need a separate heater. I chose the Truma Combi Eco, which has both electric and propane modes. I’ve been down to 20F a few nights and been warm, but had to use propane to get the trailer heated up in the morning (the electric mode is maybe 1/3 the power of the propane mode). To be clear, the Alto is not a four-season trailer, so if you plan to use it in very cold weather, it would probably be better to winterize it.
Have fun writing!
Have fun with your writing assignment and enjoy visiting with your family. 🙂
