Starting on Feb 20 and lasting until Feb 28, I’ll be staying in Big Bend National Park. It’s known for beautiful hikes, scenery, and the Rio Grande. It is not known for its digital connectivity. So consider this fair warning that I’ll mostly be out of pocket unless the campground store wifi is decent.
To tide you over, I’ve scheduled Travel Tuesday, Friday Fun, and Sunday Serenity posts so you will have something to look forward to while I’m gone.
Enjoy the world. Put down your phone or tablet, walk away from your laptop, let the politics go for a little while, and look at the life going on around you. Step outside, and look up at the stars or the sun or the clouds. It’s an amazing planet, this Earth of ours.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
