After a difficult week for America, I found refuge in one of our country’s most remote and beautiful places, the Ash Mountain National Wildlife Refuge.
The mile-long boardwalk through the heart of the refuge became a walking meditation for me. I thought on elections and social media and, well, everything that went down this past week. And decided that, once again, the only way is forward.
This image reminds me that even things harsh and difficult to see have value in the right light.
I’ll end this post with a slight but sincere tribute to Leonard Cohen, who passed away recently.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.
