This is a gem of a park, especially if you are on a beach loop, where a short walk across the long stretch of sand gets you to endless ocean views.
I loved the beach and went every day, sometimes twice a day, to catch the changes in light and the amazing sunsets.
And once, even to catch the moon above the sand dunes before it set in the west…
If you are lucky enough to get a beach loop campsite, you can see this kind of dusk sky from your spot:
The non-beach loops are good, too, more into the “forest and trees” decor but still giving each site a modicum of privacy.
Two things not so perfect about this park: close enough to Aberdeen that you do have to secure stuff, and close enough to Seattle that you get a lot of inexperienced campers and family campers with bikes and outdoor TVs and radios. Weekdays are better than weekends, for the most part, as with most of the parks in summer.
