This was a last-minute pick for me, one of the few state parks with availability when I needed to get away from the plane-infested Saltwater State Park. In less than a day, it became my favorite so far, with the beautiful Green River flowing through the campground.
Each campsite is pretty well separated from the others by foliage, including some really tall trees. Even when all the sites were full, the noise level was low so this was a perfect place to get away from it all and get back to nature.
And did I mention the Green River? Cold, clear, and I spent a lot of time sitting on the banks with my feet dangling in the water.
My visit being in June, there were several kinds of wildflowers blooming, with this little one winning my heart as favorite of the lot.
OK, just one more of the Green River. Honestly, it was so great I didn’t want to leave. And I’m already planning a return trip!
