Well, considering that home is still Seattle for a few more months, I’m almost home. But, really, Breeze is starting to feel like home, and I’m pretty excited to clean out my apartment next week and move the rest of the vagabond life stuff into the trailer and start figuring out how to make it all fit. And, to be honest, I am kind of wondering what is back in that apartment that I haven’t needed for a month, other than work-related clothes and some books.
Wednesday afternoon through this morning, I hung out in Hailey with a friend, soaking up the local vibes (pretty mellow, Hailey has one stoplight and excellent sushi) and sleeping in a bed that didn’t rock ever so slightly when I rolled over. And a shower with (to me) endless hot water, although my California roots never let me take anything more than 10 minutes of hot water, even after all these years out of the state.
Thursday morning, we took a walk through the woods behind their house to the Big Wood River and checked out the Great Horned Owl mama and her baby.
I don’t know which was more fun, watching the mama owl dead-stare us or watching the river flow.
This morning, I had one last shot of Idaho as I left on my penultimate day of the road trip, and even with the drizzle and overcast skies, it was still a beautiful sight.
As I crossed the state line into Oregon, my brain torn between “Yay, one more state to go before I’m home” and “What, the four weeks is already over?!”
Today was mostly I-84 for driving, meaning lots of big rigs but they were all well-behaved and I mostly let my cruise control do the heavy lifting. I ended the day at Wildhorse Casino and RV Park, mostly because it was halfway between Hailey and Seattle and it has full facilities, so I can pump out the poop tomorrow before I leave Breeze at a friend’s house for a week. My little trailer is feeling just a bit undersized tonight…
But we’ll get over it 🙂

Cheers!
Amazing journey Annie. Wonderful photos, stories and people. From a purely selfish point of view, I can’t wait until you are on the road again and there will blog entries to read at the end of the day. Look what you have accomplished in the past month!
